The DownsSteam Tourist Railway & Museum was founded in 2001 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Despite its name, this isn’t your typical train ride. Located at 16 Cambooya St, Drayton QLD 4350, the steam trains are made from authentic historic steam engines that have been restored. The museum offers a great opportunity to learn about the history of the locomotives and the role they played in the local community throughout the ages. However, the train rides are a highlight of the DownsSteam Railway – you can experience the actual workings of a steam engine!
